Aphrodite\Venus: Goddess of Love

"Goddess of the mountaintop...
Burning like a silver flame...
The summit of beauty and love....
And Venus was her name.."

Classic song and it helped to inspire this piece. Aphrodite or as the Romans called her: Venus, has inspired us over the years and there're countless pieces of artwork from Ancient Greece and Rome: to the modern times depicting the Goddess of Love. One legend tells how she rose up out of the sea and came to us on an island: what the ancient writers could not agree on was.. which island. Some think Cyprus, some think Crete... some even think she arrived in modern-day Turkey. Regardless, the world sure needs her light right now with all that's going on and let's hope that she springs up once more to bring joy, love and light to everyone.
